So they're going to be publishing the Short Stories in a collection like they did with the Story Collections. Do you think they're going to leave out almost all of the "peek into the past" sections like they did in the Story Collections? Or the activities they have in the back of each little short story book? IMO, those are some of the best parts of the books, and I'd hate to see them omit them. Should I just go ahead and buy the separate Short Stories to be safe?

I love the short stories as they are. The books are so cute and well made. My children loved having small books that they could easily finish. It gave them such a feeling of accomplishment. Stories in a large collection were never enjoyed as much. Now that my kids are grown, the books are a nice size for my dolls and someday I hope to have another tiny pair of hands (a grandchild) wrapped around them.

You never know what the short story collections will be like, but I am sure they will be different. I just finished collecting the rest of the short story books. I think they are cute and I agree with MaryCarly. My DD loved being able to read a "whole" book! They are very nicely made little books for the price. They are less than the cost of a magazine.

I would think the peeks and activities would be cut out, if the Story Collections are any indication about how much they care about the educational aspect of the books.

As for if you should buy them now, if I didn't have all of the short stories already, I'd buy the ones on the AG site that are super cheap (this is how I got all of mine, I bought them the last time they were up, I had to go through Amazon for 2), and then wait on the others until after these sets come out. They *might* have the information in them still. And even if they don't, the prices will be MUCH lower on some of the pricier ones, like Samantha and the Missing Pearls.

Personally, like with the regular core books, I much prefer the individual ones. I want to buy these new sets(over a few months), if they have new stories, and store my old ones elsewhere, as these little ones take up a lot of shelf space (and my AG books are already spilling off of 2 shelves >_<).

I just recently bought Kirsten's Story collection and was disappointed they took out all the "Past" things. That was one of my favorite parts!

I wish they would have attached them on the end as well... instead they gave us mini paper dolls... wasn't really interested in those.

I hope they do, but they probably won't which will not be cool. I just finshed my short stories off with this last order from AG and I love the fact bits at the back--they root the girls in history, which is the whole point of the historical books! This is why I'm trying to get the singles for everyone--I'm almost done, I only have Kit and Kaya to work on.

Wow, this is frustrating. I actually almost bought a bunch of the short stories at a bookstore near campus, but had to wait until after getting textbooks, and by then they had sent them back to the company. Argh! I still need to find twelve more books!
At least, I think so.... I still need to find that post that had all of the Short Stories listed.
Meanwhile, please PM me if you have any Short Stories for sale! (I got the ones off AG's sale, plus "Felicity Takes a Dare" from a local used bookstore... still looking for the others)

Double Argh!!! I found everything I was looking for on Alibris, but shipping cost more than the actual books!!!
Edit:
No, I was not silly enough to buy them there.

And thanks for the list!
